Book Review for "The Unseen"

TL Hines writes a very interesting story which kept me captivated for most of the book. To me, the book dealt with the issues of facing your greatest fears…especially when those fears are primarily of you and yourself. Centering on a character named Lucas, Hines kept me wondering where his anti-social, idiosyncratic main character was going throughout the story. I often found myself looking at the ceiling and at a wall or two a little more closely as a result of reading this story.

I must confess, though, I was disappointed with how the book ended. All through the novel, I kept asking myself, “Where are these people coming from?” When I finally got my answer, I felt a little let down. It seemed to me, and maybe it is just me, that the explanation for all that took place in the story came very abruptly and figuratively spilled on my table in front of me. I would have liked to see Hines ease me in to the “Creep Club” and other mysterious characters who either came to life out of nowhere or died all of a sudden.

In spite of that, I found the book to be suspenseful and intriguing and would give it about 4/5 stars.
